Making dinner that fits everyone's dietary needs can be difficult. All of these recipes are vegetarian and gluten free. A few of them are vegan as well! These all make great dinners, and if you are cooking for a larger group feel free to add on a side salad or a side of roasted veggies to add to the meal.

I was trying to reduce my gluten consumption during an elimination diet to help with my allergies. During this process, I created and found other vegetarian gluten free recipes that worked for me and were delicious. Even though I’m no longer doing the elimination diet, I still go back to these recipes.

What foods are gluten free?

Gluten is a form of protein in wheat, rye, barley and triticale. That is why when you think of gluten you often think of bread or pasta. Outside of these types of grains there are so many foods that you can eat. All fruits, vegetables, legumes, seed, nuts, and eggs are all gluten free.

There are also gluten free products that can be similar to what you might find in gluten form. Some of these items are brown rice or chickpea pasta or gluten free breads. It is easier than ever to find gluten free alternatives for food.

Why would people not eat gluten?

If you are looking for these recipes for others you may be wondering why they don’t eat gluten. There are a few main reasons. The first one is that they may be allergic or had celiac disease. This makes it very hard for someone to digest gluten. Another reason is that they are trying to reduce allergy symptoms and they have found a sensitivity to gluten. They may also be trying to improve their gut health by reducing refined carb and sugar.

There can be many reasons a person is reducing their gluten consumption. It may just be for a few weeks and it may be a lifelong process.

Once you start learning what you can and can’t have on a gluten free diet, cooking and eating out becomes much easier. The more people that start to eat gluten free, the more options there will be.
