Jump to RecipeTwo glasses of fresh jucie next to fresh fruit.

When looking for the best juicers that are still inexpensive I scoured the internet to see what the leading experts were saying. They add many nice and fancy juicers on their list, but I found a few that were inexpensive that kept coming up in different best juicer searches.

This list is the top 5 juicers I found that were highly rated and relatively low cost so you can start enjoying fresh juice at home.

Which juicer is best and cheap?

This is the question I asked when looking into buying a juicer. I wanted to have something that would not break on me after a few uses but also not break the bank. The list below has the top 5 juicers I found that meet this criteria.

Top Choice For an Affordable Juicer

Based on the many reviews I have gone through the top choice for an affordable juice is the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juicer. This is actually the least expensive one but it was reviewed as one of the best and easiest to use. Read more below and see the other 4 options that came close.

Who makes the best juicer under $100?

Each of these juicers are between $60-$150. The best one under $100 would have to be the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juicer. If you are looking for something smaller and compact that would easily fit on your counter I would go with the Breville Compact Juicer.

Types of Juicers

There are many different types of juicers that work in slightly unique ways. The main type sof juicers are the centrifugal, masticating, or manual juicers. All of these have their purpose, but here are the main pros and cons of each type.

1. Centrifugal Juicers:

  • How they work: Centrifugal models uses fast-spinning blades to extract juice from fruits and vegetables. The centrifugal force separates the juice from the pulp.
  • Pros: Fast juicing process, typically more affordable.
  • Cons: May produce heat, which can affect the quality of the juice. Not as efficient in extracting juice from leafy greens.

2. Masticating Juicers (Single Gear or Auger Juicers):

  • How they work: Masticating juicers use a slower, grinding or chewing motion to extract juice. They crush and press fruits and vegetables to release the juice.
  • Pros: More efficient at extracting juice from leafy greens, less heat generated, can be used to make nut butters and sorbets.
  • Cons: They are slow juicers and tend to take more time than centrifugal juicers. They also tend to be more expensive.

3. Manual Juicers:

  • How they work: Operated by hand, manual juicers require physical effort to extract juice from fruits or vegetables.
  • Pros: Simple, no electricity required, easy to clean.
  • Cons: Can be tiring for large quantities, may not be as efficient as electric counterparts.

4. Twin Gear (Triturating) Juicers:

  • How they work: These juicers have two interlocking gears that crush and grind produce, squeezing out the juice.
  • Pros: Highly efficient, especially for extracting juice from leafy greens. Typically produce a higher yield of juice.
  • Cons: More expensive and bulkier than other types of juicers.

5. Citrus Juicers:

  • How they work: Designed specifically for citrus fruits, these juicers extract juice from oranges, lemons, limes, etc.
  • Pros: Efficient for citrus fruits, usually affordable.
  • Cons: Limited to citrus fruits only.

6. Hydraulic Press Juicers:

  • How they work: These juicers use a hydraulic press to extract juice from fruits and vegetables. They are often associated with cold-press or slow juicing. These are normally used when making a large quantity of juice.
  • Pros: High juice yield, less heat used, and the juice can have a longer shelf life.
  • Cons: Expensive, bulky, and may require more effort to clean.

Which juicer is healthiest?

Masticating juicers are known to be the healthiest because they produce juice with less foam and more nutrients. They also don’t use any heat which can help retain those nutrients. The down side is that these juicers tend to be on the most expensive end.

Manual juicers are also very healthy because they don't use any heat in the juicing process.

What to Look For in a Juicer

The main things to look for in a juicer is what are you going to use it for and the ease of use. Also, think about who is going to use it. Is this something that you want to make a single serving or are you making enough for a family.

Make sure to take into account the size of the juicer. Some juicers can be large and heavy. If you are tight on space or need something that is easier to move around, definitely take into account the size and weight of the juicer.

Lastly, make sure it is fairly easy to clean. All the juicers on this list had good cleaning reviews. When making juice the fibers and pulp can get stuck in the juicer and having something easy to clean out makes a huge difference.
